The listed building regime might not be fit for purpose but you know what should be treated with the same protection as buildings? …. Football Clubs, not the stadium, the clubs, they have way more of the local importance and are way more crucial to the local culture than any old art gallery is and the protections provided would prevent a lot of the worst actions of foreign owners, I’m surprised fan groups haven’t tried to follow the process local activists do to get buildings listed as a way of getting the clubs protected from scumbag owners
