Odds and Ends #66: The winner of the 2040 US Presidential election is in space

Plus ultra-grim Nazi revisionism, why Kemi is right about Adolescence, and my Gladiators conspiracy theory

Hello! It’s time for Odds and Ends, your regular round-up of the most interesting links I’ve seen this week, plus some shorter takes.

This week, I’m featuring:

  • A depressing read about Hitler revisionism

  • A slightly-too-late take on Kemi Badenoch’s Adolescence heresy

  • Why much of Europe is thinking similarly to me about where to go on holiday

  • How civil disobedience is actually supposed to work

  • Where the Democratic nominee for the 2040 election is now

  • An extremely important conspiracy theory about the grand final of Gladiators.

  • A cool geospatial dataset related to solar energy – and how to make it even cooler

  • An amusing retrospective on masculinity in the early 2000s

But first, a couple of plugs:

POD! On the latest episode of The Abundance Agenda, Martin and I discuss the exciting news that Britain is actually building something. In this case, a massive new theme park in Bedfordshire. Plus, we dig into the problem with British Steel, and speak to JP Spencer from Labour Together about the tyranny of the Treasury’s Green Book, and how to actually do levelling up properly. Listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Substack, or wherever you get your podcasts!

QUESTIONS! I’m planning a mailbag post for next week, so don’t forget to add any burning questions to the comments on this post!

Now let’s get on with the links!
