Yesterday afternoon, Andy Burnham gave his first conference speech as Prime Minister, and judging by the breathless commentary on my timeline, it will find itself placed in the historical pantheon of political speeches positioned somewhere between the Gettysburg Address and I Have A Dream.
In all seriousness though, I think there were many things to like in the policy-heavy speech, as well as many other things that left me with further questions about the question I posed back in July: whether Andy Burnham is serious or not.
So this week, here’s a breakdown of what I liked, what I didn’t – and what left me scratching my head.
