The rioting in various British towns and cities has been really fucking grim.
Aside from the one enjoyable moment, when one of the rioters got hit in the balls by a brick thrown by somebody on his own side, it has been a horrible reminder of just how despicably humans can behave towards other humans. I felt a bit sick seeing the footage of the group of thugs attacking the hotel that was housing asylum seekers – people whose only ‘crime’ is fleeing their home countries in fear for their lives, looking for a safe place to live.

My anger, however, goes much further than just the morons on the ground. I’m also furious about the ghoulish commentators who have offered self-serving explanations for the disorder, and concluded that, well… the riots prove what they’ve been saying all along.
